Announcing: NSTIC DG Formed - Please Join

Dear Kantara Community, Kantara Initiative is pleased to announce the formation of the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace Discussion Group<http://kantarainitiative.org/confluence/display/nstic/Home> (NSTIC DG) which will *author the Kantara Initiative response to the recent NSTIC Notice of Inquiry (NOI) [1] as its first order of business. *To provide a comprehensive multi-stakeholder response, it is anticipated that this DG will be comprised of representatives from communities including: international, industry, governance, analyst, user-centric, consumer, public policy and privacy. *Schedule:* Due to the NSTIC NOI due date of July 22 the NSTIC DG will seek to kick of this week on Thursday or Friday (June 23rd or 24th). Times will be circulated to the dg-nstic(a)kantarainitiative.org list tomorrow. Ultimately, this group would seek to regularly meet regularly on Tuesdays. Spotlight on John Bradley

John is a Identity Domain expert in the Alexandria, VA office of Protiviti Government Services. He also serves as Kantara’sLeadership Council Co-chair & Federation Interoperability Work Group Chair. John has been active with Kantara since it’s inception. As an experienced IT professional with a diverse background, John has been co-authoring the ICAM protocol profiles at Protiviti Government Services. He has also been coordinating interoperability testing on the profiles with OASIS and Trust Framework partners from industry. John has contributed to SAML, openID, Information Card (IMI), XRI and other identity standards. He is actively working to develop the next version of openID. John is originally from Canada and lives in Chile. Joni: Returned to Duty at Kantara

Dear Kantara Community, You may have been aware that I was out on an unexpected medical leave from part of April through most of May. I can happily report that I am back in action and reporting in full time as usual. I'd like to personally thank each of you who sent / shared well wishes for a speedy recovery. I very much appreciated your thoughts and they continually brightened my days and reminded me of why I am so proud to be a part of our work and community! That said I do have many many emails in my inbox. If you have sent me something that needs attention and I have not yet responded please do feel free to mail me again. This way your note will be at the top of my list and I can quickly respond. As usual, we have much exciting work happening in Kantara and especially in the identity and privacy contexts given all the NSTIC buzz etc. We've got plenty to do and I very happy to be back at your sides helping to move identity standards forward.
