Cheers, Dervla = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Created in 2009, ADP-IoS (http://www.iosf.org/) is a not-for-profit association which mission is to support the creation of the Internet of Subjects, i.e. an architecture where personal data is being freed and placed under the full control of individuals —all things being equal, the IoS is to personal data what initiatives such as "raw data now!" are to public data. The vision of the IoS is an architecture where individuals have a tangible, autonomous, representation of themselves, based on a clear separation between the storage of personal data and metadata, in personal proxies (personal data stores / lockers / services) from their exploitation by service providers, organisations, businesses and public bodies. Such an architecture should create the conditions for the emergence of new services and business models and more balanced and trustworthy relationships between individuals and organisations. IoS will contribute to Kantara's work by exploring the implementation of existing Kantara specifications to create a Personal-Proxy-based architecture and study its impact on current and future business models in order to provide recommendations for future standards. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Créé en 2009, ADP-IOS (www.iosf.org) est un organisme sans but lucratif dont la mission est d'accompagner la création de l'Internet of Subjects (Internet des Sujets) reposant sur une architecture où les données personnelles sont libérées et placées sous le contrôle entier des individus —toutes choses étant égales, l'IoS est aux données à caractère personnel ce que des initiatives telles que "Raw Data Now!" Host or Sponsor future Kantara Initiative Summits and Meetings

As we plan for 2011, Kantara will continue to hold meetings and add a series of Summits to our event schedule. We are looking for general interest in hosting a Kantara meeting and/ or a Summit. Summits: a series of 1-day Summits where a portion of the agenda is designated to Kantara's groups focussing on current and future activities. The remaining time is open for the Kantara community and it's members to present work and hold break-out sessions. This is an excellent opportunity for you or your organization to showcase new work. Ideally a 7-8-hour Summit (one room for approx. 50 persons). Meetings: we will continue as in the past, our next meeting is estimated for Spring 2011 and then 6 months later in the Winter time. Ideally a 3-day Kantara Initiative meeting (approx. 3 rooms x 3 days). Locations: North America, EMEA and potentially Asia. We are considering Silicon Valley, Washington, New York in North America. In EMEA and beyond, Munich, London, Bratislava, Barcelona, China, India, Australia & Japan. Follow on from Kantara Initiative Meeting in Paris

We'd like to extend many thanks to our hosts Orange-FT who made the Kantara Initiative meeting in Paris last week a really good one. We had a successful meeting with a good turnout and extremely productive sessions. The OpenID Summit session provided updates on various working groups and a review of significant OpenID deployments. Thanks to John Bradley and Nat Sakimura for organizing this event. Thanks also to Kim Cameron from Microsoft who presented at Kantara's opening session discussing next generation technology, identity metasystems, and more. The call for nominations for the 2011 IDDY (IDentity Deployment of the Year) Awards is now open! Kantara Initiative is excited to continue this awards program for the fifth year. We encourage you to refer partners and organizations that could be good candidates for the award program. Past winners are among the best and brightest in the identity marketplace, and we look forward to honoring this year's recipients at Kantara Initiative's Annual Identity Workshop at the RSA Conference, February 14, 2011. This fifth year of IDDY Awards will honor deployments and proofs of concept of all identity specifications anyone that utilizes any open/ standard identity technology, including ID-WSF, Identity services from the Cloud, IGF, Information Cards, OATH, OAuth, OpenID, OpenSocial, OPML, PKI, RDF, RSS, SAML, WS-Security, WS-Trust, WS, XACML, XDI, XMPP extensions, XRD, XRI, etc., is encouraged to participate. All - If you haven't already seen it, the W3C Social Web Incubator Group recently published it's final report: http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/socialweb/wiki/FinalReport Of specific interest to this group is their summary of work taking place around Identity: http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/socialweb/wiki/FinalReport#Identity I'm not sure if it's an oversight or was a conscious decision, but it's interesting that there only mention of "trust frameworks" is in a passing reference. In order to allow more participants the opportunity to register as well as to better leverage resources the SAML 2.0 Interoperability test has been rescheduled to begin January 6th and end February 24th (2011). We continue to accept registrations for the Kantara Initiative Interoperability Certification for SAML 2.0 test event. Registration concludes on Thursday December 30, 2010 To register visit: http://signup.kantarainitiative.org/event/. * * *Registration fees: * SAML 2.0 Interop Test Plan ver3.3: $16,000 per product with version *Testing Location* No travel is required. Participants will test over the internet from their own respective sites and communicate daily via conference calls and mail list server. *Schedule* - August 2: Registration BEGINS - December 30: Registration deadline - January 6 (2011): SAML 2.0 Tests starts - February 24 (2011): Test ends * * ***Why Have Your SAML Product Kantara Initiative Interoperability Certified? * The SAML standard continues to be one of the most widely adopted identity management standards in the world. With industries from around the globe adopting SAML, the critical identity information that flows over SAMLrepresents millions of identities each year. To ensure that identity information is securely handled, Kantara Initiative full-matrix interoperability certification is mission critical for these industries. There are typically some 6-8 participating products from around the globe participating in each round of testing with some 500 SAML transactions performed. Kantara Initiative selected Drummond Group <http://www.drummondgroup.com/>, the trusted interoperability test lab, as its testing partner. Drummond Group has a proven track record of certification of interoperability of software, having tested hundreds of products from around the globe in a variety of standards. *What will be tested?* The Kantara Initiative SAML 2.0 test criteria test plan covers the required functionality through documented test steps. Version 3.3 of the test plan was finalized last month and will be used in this year’s test event. It will be similar to last year’s version 3.2.2 but also includes the new eGov 2.0 profile. Call for participation at Kantara Initiative Annual Identity Workshop, Feb. 14, 2011 @ RSA Conference

We are pleased to announce our annual identity management workshop to be held Monday, February 14, 2011 at the RSA Conference in San Francisco, CA. This year's workshop will be a full day and we are looking for initial interest from organizations that are interested in sponsoring a speaking slot and/or a pod (interoperability demos in pod format).
