Hello Community,
There is a new draft charter in the works for a proposed Kantara Group focused on Cloud Identity Security. Kantara Participant Neil McEvoy is in process of starting up a new Kantara Initiative working group, called ‘CloudIDsec‘ – Cloud Identity and Security Best Practices.
Here is the first draft of the proposed charter, that he's making available to discuss potential partnerships. Feel free to have a read and contact him to discuss any ideas. This will be a component part of our ongoing Canadian security series on this site, and also there is a dedicated Linkedin group for this best practice topic.
Neil describes this version as having a Canadian flavour because i) he's in Canada, and ii) a key part of the R&D agenda includes a focus on where these Identity standards including Kantara overlap with their evolving set for Cloud Computing too, specifically the GC Community Cloud set.
For example for their core standards for identity authentication ITSG-31 here the Government of Canada has also standardized on and contributed to Kantara. Their specific implementation is defined in this document. (53-page PDF).
Read more and contact Neil should you be interested to support and/or join this group once it's launched.... http://canadacloud.biz/2012/01/22/canadian-cloudidsec/
