I was struck by the clear thinking in Matt Zimmerman's blog post "Open vs. open vs. open: a model for public collaboration" (see link below). Granted, he's writing primarily from his experience with software development, but his principles apply to any "open" project. http://mdzlog.alcor.net/2009/10/26/open-vs-open-vs-open-a-model-for-public-c... Kantara Initiative is an open initiative, and I think Matt's criteria are clear and simple to use as a "metric" to ensure we stay on the right path.
