Not sure why Gosplan is such a great metaphor for individual autonomy in a context of distrust. :-) Does this entire topic have to be such a constantly tangled web of tensions and oxymorons? I keep wondering if the goal of perfect scale is the enemy of the good. I've seen too many instances of insistence on a perfect future state compromising the ability to achieve incremental progress (not even referring to geopolitical topics here, just standards work).Eve Maler
