well my point was that the identity world went through the fragmented 'battle years' and now appears to consolidating on a single protocol framework - OAuth, JWT,  Connect etc

work remains to define teh binding of the above to the IoT protocols - all of them or whichever emerges as the 'winner'

I guess so, but not sure that *has* to be the case. Idealistically, identity could agree on using one protocol .. could it not? Or would that be too hard/heavy to implement and deploy that way..?
