Thorsten –

Can you suggest how I can get access to make the updates indicated?  I got an ID at Kantara but don’t seem to have access to the confluence page.

Thanks Andrew!

So I just started on the wiki for the subgroup (https://kantarainitiative.org/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=85492303) and added the name of those in it (as far as I am informed). I also added a quick comment to that page with a short summary on what was discussed in the meetings so far on this point. Feel free to add missing points

May I ask the participants of the subgroup to add their (faked) mailadresses and timezones, so we can quickly agree on a Schedule for our calls?

@Megan/Shannon: what would be the next steps to get the dial-in details?

@all: I might not be available for the call today (sorry wednesday 18:00 (my time) is one of the points in time I am really hard to manage...)

Thx,

Thorsten

I can do the Taxonomy Stuff Leadership, if that is ok for that team (but am also fine if Andrew would like to do that, as he already provided valuable input from 2016 IIW)

First, thanks to everyone who has stepped up to help in our next phase of work.

Second, here's the groups as they stand so far. A few people have indicated they are willing to lead their project teams. I will ask the leaders to coordinate with Shannon and Megan to get dial-in information for their meetings and schedule them as they and their groups see fit. Also, we currently in need of a leader for Taxonomy.

With that, here are the project groups:

Membership:

* Patrick Essien

* Giles Watkins (offered to lead)

Code of Conduct/Practice:

* Scott Shorter (offered to lead)

* Steve Hutchinson

Taxonomy:

* Stu Lincoln

* George Dobbs

* Thorsten Niebuhr

* Andrew Hughes

* Catherine Schulten

Regarding the remaining 2 groups - Governance and Services - I am working on a leader for Services but would love some people to help here. As for Governance, the DG's leadership plus the special committee (Colin, Ken, etc) are going to work on this.

Project leaders - please reach out to Shannon and Megan to get conference call info. Set a schedule with your group as you see fit. Feel free to recruit new members as well.

Thanks again everyone and we'll talk tomorrow.

Thanks to those of you who have raised your hand so far

A couple things:

- yes, Kantara will provide conference bridge and screen sharing tools

- we'll also put the subgroup meeting times on the Kantara calendar

- Kantara also uses the Confluence wiki if you want a wiki space

- We have to firm up timelines for the sub-groups reporting back to the main DG but please anticipate that we'll need firm-ish drafts in December - this is partly because we know there will be some discussion, alignment and packaging work that will have to happen in January.

I'll collect up names, meeting times etc as the groups form to make it easier to find where to lend a hand.

If you are intending to contribute on a wiki, please start the process to get an account provisioned. The wiki spaces are read-only for non-authenticated users.

- Start this from the Log In link (top right) on the wiki landing page: http://kantarainitiative.org/confluence/display/GI/Home

Hi Ian

I’m happy to help drive this as I am sure it is a necessary and worthwhile venture.

Areas I think I could be of particular help are:

-          Membership models

-          Services

I see the two as being somewhat linked – as I suspect members will pay based on the nature of the services they receive.

If I can be so bold, could we possibly make the first item ‘revenue models’ rather than just membership? I suspect there are various ways of getting paid, dependent on the services we would look for the organisation to provide.

Subject: [DG-IDPro] Call for participation: Project teams forming now

All -

There a few areas that we need to small self-lead project teams to start digging into:

* Membership models (including fee structures)

* Governance and organization structure (including how are members represented in organizational leadership)

* Services (prioritizing which member services the organization rolls out first with an eye on a minimally viable organization in March 2017)

* Codes of Conduct/Practice (for both members, the online forum, and the larger Code of Practice)

* Taxonomy of the Body of Knowledge (beginning the work to name the buckets into which we will pour content)

This is your time to get involved. My hope is that you pick one of these areas and help move the organization forward. We are also looking for people willing to lead these project teams.

Also, let's all be realistic about our time. We are all very busy and we are heading into a time of the year where we should be spending more time with our families and loved ones. So with that said, be realistic about how much time you have to devote to ID Pro. I know that all of these project areas are interesting and we all want to hear the results of the work in each area, but it is not realistic to think each of us can participate in each area. I'd rather hear that you can spend a few meaningful hours working on a single project over hearing that you spread the same amount of time across multiple groups.

Lastly, if you think there are areas that we absolutely must tackle in the next six weeks, please bring them forward.

Thanks,

i
