Yup indeed.

It underlines the importance of standards and conformity assessment in an ecosystem and how to keep law and order in it to stop a 'wild west'.

At least with the mDL ecosystem in its early years there's the possibility of a sufficient groundswell of folks that are motivated to stop that happening.

I think there are some very interesting technical requirements in this settlement that we should keep in mind. There may be future implications for companies developing mDL applications and hardware.
