Fair point, and we have that kind of fall back in mind, but it may not come to that. We will know if if have to invoke it, by around Weds next week (14th).

We have the 22nd as a 'must go live', but internally we aimed for and are tracking to the 16th.

We have everything built for the DG.
We are awaiting John Wunderlich's final review of the privacy policy, and some final copy text for the welcome email.
Then we can make it live.

Copying in Oliver and John W in here as well.

I will give you access to the restricted new GPA sign up, so you can see what the ID Pro DG and the CIS WG (the two groups enabled with Consent Receipt) will look like.  I think it will work for you without further access control.

or

If you test, please make it clear you are testing ..put test test in the fields.. 123445667 or something in the phone number etc.

Thanks.

Thanks for the explanation Colin. Cool that it is part of the GPA process.

Just a bit of a surprise that's all.

The one concern I have is how are we going to have a meeting of the DG on the 19th if the DG doesn't exist? One option is that the 19th isn't a DG meeting but a webinar about the pledge and the survey results.

Hi Ian

I did in essence.. given that I am the boss and therefore take responsibility for the org's decisions at an operational level.

It was not specific to ID Pro so much as a timing issue.  If another group had been spun up at this time, it would have been the same. That's because we have a limited time to test the CR to fit in with a compressed timeframe for progressing that spec. We have piloted once before around Christmas, we made improvements, and we need to test it again to build feedback into the spec before we freeze that, ballot it, and publish it.

It is part of the GPA which we were on track and in progress to improve anyway, as with the Privacy policy.

I apologies if it comes as a shock. I thought we had mentioned it a few times in the past weeks. It is known across the staff and LC, but I accept that I should have been 'on guard' for things we were already operationalising that you may not be aware of.

Let's raise it tomorrow, and if the SC as a whole feels they want to back out of it, we could probably just about do that in time, with some effort.

Cheers
Colin

Wasn't aware of the consent receipt decision - who made that?

All,

I wanted to provide a status update on ID Pro.

As we developed the back end infrastructure for the pledgees to join the Discussion Group we hit a couple of speed bumps that have resulted in us deciding to return to the original plan that saw us launch the Survey, followed by the Discussion Group a little time later.

1.       Consent Receipt: as you know we wanted to deploy a beta of the new latest Consent Receipt specification with this discussion group, partly because it is a good audience to raise its awareness with, and partly because we are under a restricted timeframe to get early implementations out and results fed back to the CISWG before freezing the spec and going for eBallot. We are very close to closing this piece out with regards to content and functionality but do need this week to complete it.

2.       Privacy Policy: we had an update in-progress (since our current policy, written in 2011, was somewhat US-centric) but after checking its state, we found it was not quite baked enough to be ready for the compressed timeframe we agreed on a couple of weeks back. Also, the original brief did not have alignment with the Consent Receipt in scope. We expect this to take a bit longer and need until September 16 to finish this policy.

It is now our modified plan to launch in two phases to keep the momentum:

1)          The request to take the survey will be issued on Sept 7. The revised email is attached and does include Ken’s change requests. We will still plan to close the survey on September 21.

2)          Launch the DG sign up at the latest on September 22 after the close of the survey, but we will keep the pressure on to be ready as early as we can.  If we can bring the date forward a few days we will.

We will need the SC to meet to discuss the change in terms of holding the first DG meeting. I would  propose that meeting happen either Thursday or Friday of this week at 3:00pm Eastern, please let me know your availability for both times.

Regards,

Shannon
