Umm.. actually I did not suggest cancelling it.. sorry if it came across that way. I suggested that we hold back on the date range and nature of the launch until it has been discussed with the Board. So, a little needed with directing the conversation... Cheers On Tue, Dec 13, 2016 at 5:24 PM, Megan Cannon <mcannon@virtualmgmt.com> wrote:
Hello,
Just circling back about this – my recommendation is with Colin - to cancel this instance and regroup next week, unless we have something pressing to share this week. Is that a go?
Thanks,
Megan

Thanks Megan
Well, I was only in on the last half of the call, but from that half, my own view is that there is merit in socializing the general motivation to continue to push forward with the membership and services.
I don't think we should yet share the feelings of some folks on the SC regarding the speed and rate of separation from Kantara across the whole DG right now.
I think that merits more discussion, and certainly with the Board at large. My sense is that the Board felt that the tie would be about 18 months - enough time for Kantara to confirm its value with the prospective ID Pro members that it has invested in attracting here - and enough time for the new org to properly sort itself out (from experience).
This is a Sub Committee of the Board - largely the same Board that in good faith and in the interests of the community at large, did not constrain the emerging org with any restrictions.
I would ask you all to pause and reflect for a moment....
Cheers
Colin

Hi all,
In light of today’s discussion, do we want to keep the Wednesday DG call this week? Right now I have it scheduled for 12pm ET (last week it was at 11am ET).
Please let me know, thanks.
Megan

It sure does.
There's no doubt that the Board will take the views of the Officers into consideration before voting.
But the *evidence* is the Board vote and the Minute that captures it.

Ian - in terms of getting the request and plan 'in front of the Kantara board', note that the ID Pro SC has a) President, b) Treasurer, c) Leadership Council delegate, d) Executive Director and e) Leadership Council Chair.
While this sub-group of the Kantara Board obviously cannot make unilateral decisions (!) it does make broaching the subject otherwise easier.
