[image: Logo, company name Description automatically generated] Good morning all: We are excited to announce the launch of two new Discussion Groups at Kantara Initiative: - Blinding Identity Taxonomy Discussion Group <https://kantarainitiative.org/coming-soon-blinding-identity-taxonomy-discussion-group/> (BIT DG): BIT aims to evolve and maintain the Blinding Identity Taxonomy as an informative taxonomy for identifying and managing personally identifiable information (PII) and quasi-identifiable information (QII), establishing it as a Kantara product and producing a Blinding Identity Taxonomy Report 2.0 and a BIT Supplementary Report 2.0. - Shadow AI in the Workplace Discussion Group <https://kantarainitiative.org/work-groups/coming-soon-shadow-ai-in-the-workplace-discussion-group/> (Shadow AI DG): The rapid adoption of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and other AI-powered applications has led to a growing phenomenon known as “Shadow AI”, the unsanctioned use of AI tools by employees without the knowledge or approval of their organization. While these tools can significantly enhance productivity, creativity, and efficiency, they also introduce serious risks. Shadow AI will explore the causes, implications, and mitigation strategies related to Shadow AI in enterprise environments. The anticipated output is a report that outlines the risks, organizational vulnerabilities, and practical countermeasures.
