This notice is to inform you that draft assessment criteria documents aligned with NIST SP 800-63B-4 are open for your Review and Comment. This notice will be sent out for public review and comment on January 21, 2026. As a member of Kantara, you are receiving an advance copy and opportunity for review and comment ahead of the public comment period.

The following draft documents are available for review:

• SP 800-63-4A — Identity Proofing - Previously released. Comments due no later than 20 January 2026
• SP 800-63-4B — Authentication and Lifecycle Management
• Kantara Identity Assurance Framework: SP 800-63-4B Service Assessment Criteria (SAC) & Statement of Criteria Applicability (SoCA) – (KIAF-2440 SP 800-63-4B SAC-SoCA v0.3)

The public comment period will open January 21 and close March 9, 2026.

Please note: Participants are encouraged to review each tab in the draft spreadsheets. Cross-referencing will be completed during the final publication process. You do not need to provide comments on cross-referencing or formatting, as those will be done in the final publication. Please focus your comments and recommendations on substantive areas.
