DIF backs ‘Personhood Credentials’ to restore privacy to the net | Biometric Update
I think it's the height of exclusivity, millions in the US will be unable to prove their personhood. Pure techo-arrogance thx ..Tom (mobile) On Wed, Aug 21, 2024, 4:02 PM Noreen Whysel <nwhysel@gmail.com> wrote:
Interesting article on Personhood Credentials (PHC). It seems to be another technology that pits security against equitable access, though the privacy features look interesting:

Here’s the full paper. Look at section 4 for challenges with equitable access. Could be interesting to discuss if this solution is more problematic than helpful.

PHC are somewhat in line with what we are working on at Entidad. You just need a peer-to-peer connection to a wallet and a process to prove that a person is human in order to issue the PHC credential. A mobile driver’s license is a form of PHC and verifiers will be able to verify a holder’s personhood with a proof presentation (person is true or false). In our case, our wallet features an easy to use 3D Liveness check feature that if successful, issues a credential. For in-person interactions, the issuer and holder simply need to negotiate a peer-to-peer connection to the wallet as a pre-step. Justin and Jorge, thank you for your valued input, it is appreciated..I am hopeful other WG members will do the same. Are there any comparative comments between the (underscored by Tom) draft 800-63-4 2pd and the Personhood document? May all have a nice weekend with family and friends, JIm On Fri, Aug 23, 2024 at 10:56 AM Jorge Flores <jorge@entidad.io> wrote:
