Hi Everyone,
Sorry, this email is getting to you so late - today’s meeting is canceled.
After getting off to a great start, we have been struggling to get enough attendance at our regularly scheduled meetings. We collided with spring event and business travel schedules.
At our last meeting, the small group that was able to attend agreed that it would make sense to try to work asynchronously. So here is the plan.
* I will solicit a group review of content that will be posted in Google Docs. This makes it easily accessible and will allow for multiple visible comments and edits.
*
I will ask for comments/review of the posted material with fixed completion dates. I send reminders before closing documents to comment/review.
*
I will integrate feedback and recirculate for secondary review
*
Approximately once a month or as needed, we will schedule a live review session to build consensus on outstanding issues.
We did a good job with our initial brainstorming. So based on that work, we will move ahead as follows:
1.
First out for review, revised group purpose
2.
Then we will move on to the Two-Part Decision Tree process
*
Finalize the Decision Tree process
*
Create Decision Tree Part One - Context via a role-based framework
*
Use the Decision Tree as the content framework
1.
Leverage the content framework for content creation
*
Break down content buckets
*
Claim content bucket ownership
*
Crete content delivery schedule
*
Content development
*
Content review
1.
Finally, content integration, format, and review
*
We will flesh this part of the process out when we get here.
This email will be followed by the email to address 1 above.
Cheers,
Maxine

NOTE: Because of recent email issues, I have included individual emails as well as the group address.
Greetings Everyone,
This email is an update on both group logistics and progress.
WE ARE GOING TO SKIP OUR MEETING THIS WEEK FOR THE HOLIDAYS - Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Passover.
LOGISTICS
ATTENDANCE:
We have a small core group of 4 to 6 people who regularly attend our Friday meetings. THANK YOU to those attending!!
I believe we have made significant progress, but we need a larger group to produce meaningful output.
I am wondering if others have
*
Have conflicts? Have lost internet? Are you just too busy?
*
Would meeting every other week be helpful?
*
Would a date/time change be helpful?
*
I now have a Friday morning conflict and am working to resolve it.
*
I am also open to finding a new time
I WILL SEND OUT A NEW POLL TO RECONSIDER OUR MEETING DAY AND TIME
RECRUITMENT
I will also be recruiting additional members. I encourage everyone to do the same. Feel free to send folks to me with questions.
MEETING INVITE:
There have been issues with the meeting invitation.
*
I will delete the previous recurring calendar invite and send a new one after we confirm the meeting data and time.
*
If, for some reason, this is not working for you, please create your own recurring calendar event using the following:

PROGRESS
FRIDAY, APRIL 27 MEETING
We didn't meet on Friday because the group that showed up was too small to get buy-in on the updated Group Purpose. I’d like to see a large enough group willing to contribute and get the actual work done before we move forward with revising our group purpose and defining our work output.
Meeting Notes _ March 30th Meeting

As I mentioned, WE ARE GOING TO SKIP OUR MEETING THIS WEEK FOR THE HOLIDAYS - Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Passover.
I'd like to regroup the week of April 6th.
Please review and make comments/suggestion
NEXT MEETING:
Finalized Group Purpose: We have been discussing the purpose as we brainstormed potential content for the group to develop.
https://kantara.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/biometrics/pages/1682472962/Group…
Original Group Purpose: The Biometric Data Discussion Group (BDDG) will address the management, security, and privacy of biometric data, from collection to destruction, with a focus on practical application and regulatory compliance. While standards do exist, they are often inaccessible to non-experts, and there is a need to decode and translate existing standards into a straightforward, practical guide for real-world application. BDDG will develop a set of recommendations and best practices for biometric data management to fill this need for use alongside existing standards.
Proposed Group Purpose: The Biometric Data Discussion Group (Biometrics) will address the management, security, and privacy of biometric data, from collection to destruction, with a focus on practical applications. While standards, regulations, some social norms, and industry assumptions exist, they are often vague, inaccessible, not well understood, or simply unknown to the non-experts tasked with building, integrating, and/or deploying biometric-based solutions. There is a need for straightforward, practical guidance on product and solution development and deployment, in the form of expert recommendations, that can be used by business line, product, and technical teams to ground critical early-stage architecture, process, UIX, CX, etc., decisions on well-established best practices for biometric data management. Best practices designed to protect and preserve privacy while minimizing data exposure and other unexpected and unintentional negative impacts on PII. These recommendations and best practices aren't prescriptive for standards compliance or a replacement for internal analysis and governance. Instead, they are designed to help avoid critical-path mistakes early in product and solution development. The Biometric group will develop a set of recommendations and best practices for biometric data management to fill this need for use alongside existing relevant standards.
