HI LC, We submitted the attached comments to NIST on their Cybersecurity framework 2.0. Also Sharon Polski (workgroup member and contributor to our proposed Recommendation) gave testimony in the Canadian Parliament on Bill C- 27, (An Act to enact the Consumer Privacy Protection Act, the Personal Information and Data Protection Tribunal Act and the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act) including specifically on the role receipts can play to address what was inaccurately referred to as Consent Fatigue as well as other gaps/issues. For instance, I picked up the short exchange about machine-readable TrustMarks on our website between Andrew and Ryan 1. We’re thinking about how relying parties can be assured that the identity organizations they are working with are still in possession of valid TrustMarks – i.e. not promoting certification that is out of date. 2. Is it time to move towards machine-readable marks that can be validated automatically? What would be the biggest challenges to this? 3. Did you know we publish details of all holders of active TrustMarks on our website – continuous assurance from the Kantara team! We warmly welcome Kantara’s comments, and of course consideration of co-branding the final paper in due course. *“Human-Centric Digital Identity: A Primer for Government Officials” comments due by August 15th using the form enclosed in link below: * https://openid.net/open-for-comment-human-centric-identity-a-primer-for-gov… This paper builds on the OECD Digital Identity recommendations (published as final July 2023) to provide practical and timely information to assist government officials that are responsible for enabling digital identity credential systems, globally. The paper includes 8+ months of diligence with expert organizations and individuals, as well as public consultations in 4 conferences. If we succeed, the recommendations from this paper will trigger a practical roadmap for global digital identity infrastructure development…a roadmap we will expand upon during an interoperability workshop in Paris the last week of November with numerous other non-profits. We see one of the key challenges to be bridging the “global north” and “global south” and engagement with key players like Kantara as vital to this outcome. A final version of this paper will be published prior to the OECD panel on Digital Identity (second half September), where the Digital Identity Recommendations will be formally announced at an OECD panel. The recommendations in this paper will be shared by Nat Sakimua, Chairman of the OpenID Foundation, as appropriate, during the OECD panel. We are keen to ensure the paper represents the current views of the global identity community, including Kantara’s perspective. If the paper aligns to Kantara’s perspective, we warmly encourage co-branding of the final version of this paper, prior to publication September. Many thanks for your consideration!
